Data activities
Students can analyze data from the authors' research to identify the type of elephants killed in a poaching event and to support claims about the location of the killed elephants. The attached spreadsheet contains raw data that teachers can use with students.

CSI Wildlife by HHMI|BioInteractive: in this activity, students use DNA profiling, or fingerprinting, to solve two cases of elephant poaching. In the process, they will learn about genetic markers, PCR, gel electrophoresis, allele frequencies, and population genetics.
