Learning Goals

  1. Understand Bloom's taxonomy and use it as a guide for developing excellent discussion questions
  2. Understand the types of questions students are asked will determine the type of learning achieved in the classroom
  3. Become familiar with the attributes of active learning and the requirements of effective active learning

 

Summary

In Module Four (Part 1): Excellence in Pedagogy, trainees will learn about Bloom’s Taxonomy and how to create higher-order thinking questions. Trainees will choose one educator guide from a primary literature paper and peruse through the discussion questions. They will choose 3-5 discussion questions that are lower-order (knowledge and comprehension) and practice transforming them to higher-order questions (application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation).
