General Overview
Welcome to the pre-survey portion of the annotator training for Science in the Classroom (SitC). Thank you in advance for your contribution to this important project.
In the course of this training, you will be asked to complete a pre-post survey and watch a series of videos that introduce you to SitC, discipline-based education research, major STEM learning standards and frameworks, and tips for writing high-quality annotations.
In the course of the annotation process, we will require you to provide us with the following information/materials :
- Unique ID
- Signed consent form
- Pre-training survey
- Training worksheet
- Annotation materials
- hypothes.is username & API token
- Finished annotations
- Completed accompanying resources worksheet
- Post-training survey
We will be unable to publish your annotated paper until all of these items are complete and in our hands!
Your Unique ID
We will track your progress through the annotation process with a Unique ID. It is very important that you write your unique ID down.
To create a Unique ID, combine the month you were born, your house number, and your zip code.
For example, someone born in April living at 123 Clover Lane, zip code 14150 would have the Unique ID: 0412314150
Pre-training survey
Before you begin the training modules, you must complete the pre-survey. Please complete the consent form and send it to the SitC team (scienceeducation@aaas.org)
There are three versions of the pre-survey. While we recognize you may not feel that you fit neatly in any one discipline, we ask that you let us know which of the following you most closely identify with so we can send you the proper survey:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics/engineering
