Annotation workflow

Sample annotator training

Our annotator training process begins with a pre-training survey. Once that is completed, you will be asked to watch six training videos, ranging in length from 6-20 minutes each (average = 12 minutes), and complete a training worksheet as you go.

Here are samples of some of the videos along with their accompanying worksheet questions:

Once training is complete, the worksheet and consent forms are turned in, and a member of the SitC team has been contacted, we will work with you on selecting a paper if one hasn't already been chosen. After completing the annotations, figure tabs, and educator guides, you'll be asked to take a post-training survey.

If you would like to annotate for SitC, please contact the SitC team at scienceeducation@aaas.org.

If you are an instructor and want to have your class work on annotations, please contact Melissa McCartney (mmccartn@fiu.edu) before you begin!
