Sabrina Powell

Bio

Sabrina Powell is a scientist and educator with extensive experience designing and implementing educational programs and events for learners of all ages. She is a translator between scientists and non-scientists, a teacher who can unpack scientific concepts and make them approachable and relevant for any audience. She earned a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her dissertation research focused on the microbiology of contaminated soils. As a science curriculum developer, she has created and implemented instructional activities that encourage students to explore science content through hands-on investigations. Her interdisciplinary background and extensive science education expertise engage learners ranging from preschoolers to adults. When not knee-deep in science education, Sabrina enjoys playing the piano and baritone saxophone.
