Learning Goals

  1. Understand Bloom's taxonomy and use it as a guide for developing excellent discussion questions
  2. Understand the types of questions students are asked will determine the type of learning achieved in the classroom
  3. Become familiar with the attributes of active learning and the requirements of effective active learning

 

Summary

In Module Four (Part 2): Excellence in Pedagogy, trainees will analyze the learning outcomes of an activity included with a primary literature in Science in the Classroom’s website. They will watch a video about active learning and have a chance to change or make edits to the activity to encourage a more active learning environment (given that the original activity does not already do so).
